Emerald Ash Borer

The emerald ash borer is a green beetle that can devastate ash tree populations. The adult beetles chewing on ash leaves doesn't cause much damage, however they lay eggs in the bark of ash trees. When these eggs hatch, the larvae feed on the layer of tissue below the bark. This disrupts the tree's ability to transport water and nutrients and eventually will kill the ash tree.

Oak Wilt

Take preventative measures and watch your oak trees thrive! Oak wilt is a deadly disease caused by the fungus bretziella fagacearum (formerly known as ceratocystis fagacearum). This fungus grows through the infected tree's water conducting system, causing the tree to wilt and die. Oak wilt is introduced to an area by sap feeding beetles that carry oak wilt spores to the fresh wounds.
